It is that time of year again to nominate colleagues who do an exceptional job! Although the title says Teacher of the Year, we are not limiting ourselves to teachers. We can recognize the efforts of all of our exceptional colleagues!
The nominations for the Teacher of the Year will be due by Friday, April 13th. Nominations for the Teacher of the Year award will be accepted from all certificated staff including administrators. Your Representative Council will meet on Monday, April 16th to hear all nominations and select this year’s recipient. Each person who submits a nomination will be invited to attend the meeting to speak to their nomination. Two school board members will also sit on this committee to help select the Teacher of the Year. The recipient will be announced at the End of the Year breakfast. The honor of Teacher of the Year will be accompanied with a monetary award.
I hope that you will take a few moments to recognize one of your amazing colleagues who work so tirelessly to ensure that they provide the best possible experience for their students.
When thinking about someone to nominate, please consider the following criteria:
• The individual must have served in LCUSD as a full-time teacher for a minimum of seven years.
• The teacher is a person who has a history of going the extra mile for the student body. Examples of this would be being an ASB advisor, coach, directing extracurricular activities, etc.
• The teacher consistently makes himself/herself available to students.
• The teacher is widely regarded as a person who strengthens the staff and works well with colleagues.
